Essence of Christmas!

December, a month to remember. It's not just anyone's birthday or anniversary bu it's the season where everyone have been waiting for. The season of joy, peace and love. The time when Christ was born. The day where the world have been waiting for.

So, what's the essence of Christmas for you? Is it for the delicious foods in the table during Noche Buena? or the gifts being opened under that Christmas tree? or maybe the money that are given when you go caroling?

Christmas for me is the time of forgiving and forgetting. It's the most wonderful time for us to realize and reflect for all the wrong things we've done to other people and to forgive those who also hurt you. And when you forgive, you forget. Christmas is the meaning of love. Love of God and the love of all the people surrounding you. When all the hatred and bitterness will be forget and for us to start a new year of our lives. Remember the bible verse John 3: 16 “For God so loved the world that he gave us his only begotten son, that whosoever believe

in him will not perish but have eternal life.” That we should put in our hearts and minds about the love of God and to spread love to everyone, to give a helping hand for those in need.  It's also the time where we should be thankful to God. For sparing us our lives and counting us among the living.

The spirit of Christmas is giving and sharing. Even if it's a simple present as long as it comes from the bottom of your heart you'll be appreciated. Let us not forget our lord Jesus Christ, who taught us all what real, genuine & unconditional love is.

It's about cherishing and celebrating the love you share. Spend less on gifts and more on relationships! Merry Christmas everyone!

Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities

Equal rights. All humans have equal rights. Even if you're a male, female or a part of the colorful world of the LGBTQ you will get that equal rights. But in this world full of judgement and criticism, some didn't get and experience that equal rights. They are being discriminated and unloved by others even if they did nothing wrong. The poor ones don't feel that equal rights because people in the higher hierarchy are attacking them, showing them that they are more powerful than those people who wear rags. As you can see people depends their rights by their status, who they are and what they can. And those people who belong to the lower hierarchy and people who are part of the LGBTQ they always get rejected in the things they wanted to do.

We should think that we have that equal rights and with equal rights we would have that equal opportunities. Equal opportunities in all aspects. With equal rights, many doors of opportunities would be open to everyone. Having equal rights, people would live a happy and content life. Doing what they want without any hesitations because they know that we have the rights to do so. For example, some companies don't  want to hire people in the LGBTQ that really shows discrimination but with equal rights they're hired as long as they know and want that job. People would say, "I would grab that opportunity."

We are all God's creation and he had given us that equal love and equal protection. We are all the same in God's eyes. Let's all put in our minds that with equal rights, there'll be equal opportunities for everyone. It is possible for everyone and anyone to do what they want to. Remember that when we have equal rights, we would live in a place called Utopia.

Tamang Pag-aaruga

Reading is the Key

We all believe in the saying that "Education is the key to success" and most of us especially the youth go to school. In school we learn how to read, write and count. Reading is very important to us because by reading another knowledge and lessons are being learned. We also enjoy reading because of the entertainment it gives to us.

We can read books in our leisure time for us to have something to do. Make reading a habit because it boosts our mental health. As a student, reading has been a powerful weapon for me, when there's something I don't understand about the lesson I consult books for more information and for me to understand it. I enjoy reading novels or stories and many words have been added to my vocabulary. But we also know that there are people who doesn't know how to read. Sometimes they hear the words "No read, no write". And what will happen if people doesn't know how to read? Yes, it will be hard for them to achieve their goals. And this proves that reading is truly the key for a brighter future. When one knows how to read and knows how to apply it in life then for sure you will be successful.

Reading books, magazines, etc. everyday can help us achieve our goals for us to have a brighter future. The whole world will open to you if you learn how to read.

Learning is Fun

We can't believe it that another grading had been finished. New lessons, new learnings and new knowledge are added again in our minds. This grading period we learned all about internet access and HTML documents.

This two topics are very fun to learn. I enjoy making html documents in the notepad and I am amazed by the tags we used. Different functions had been introduced to us. Even if at first I've been confused on what to do next, I managed to follow in our lesson.

Moving on, I will share the knowledge I have learned to other people so that they may also learn something about the internet. I can also apply the knowledge I have in my everyday life especially in doing my homework and project. And learning the second grading lessons are very fun.

Human Rights and Dignity

Everyone of us has the freedom to expresss ourselves. We have the chance to show who we are and what we'll be. Even if you are rich or poor, you have the rights and dignity to fight for.

The 2018 official theme stresses the criticality of ensuring that no one is left behind in all efforts to end poverty and to defend the human rights and dignity of people living in poverty. Therefore, the proposed theme stress the need to reach and include those “furthest behind”.

As we can see, families that experiences poverty can't fight their rights. They sometimes left behind and their rights had been ignored by the many. But the truth is we should open our eyes to see what poor people are experiencing. So with the help of this UN Theme we can say that we have the same human rights and dignity.

Second Home

School is the second home of every youth. Here, they spent many years to learn together with their classmates and of course the ones who mold them, our dear teacher. They were the ones who talks all day and sharing us something that we could learn. Sometimes when we are noisy, they get annoyed to us. Sometimes we don't want them because they have done something we don't like and vice versa. But that's the part of being in school. We learn and explore new things everyday.

So, as a present to our dear teachers, we spent even just a day for them. For them to feel special and for them to feel the love we wanted to give them. Just by simply greeting them, giving letters, flowers, chocolates and many more. It doesnt matter, at least you've remember their day.
Teachers deserve the love and the appreciation because they are the ones who molds us. They are the reason behind the success of doctors, lawyers, engineer, nurses and many more. They stand as our second parents that guides us of what we will do.
My teacher, my hero. Yes, they are. They are my heroes because even after a long tiring lesson they find ways to teach another tooic again for us to learn.

Even if we celebrate Teacher's Day only for a day, don't forget to thank them everyday. For their sacrifices and efforts to help us reach our goals. Turo mo, kinabukasan ko".

Discover the World of Potentials

The science month of 2018 revolves around the theme “Wavefront: Accentuating Potentials, Activating Technological Advancements”, which gives importance to Michael Faraday's discovery. The discovery of electricity and magnetism that leads to electromagnetism that is important in this generation because of technologies.

This encourages the youth to make a move on how to improve the technolies we have now. To seek knowledge on hoe this electromagnetism works and on how we could use them to have a better technology advancement. This technologies had a great help in every nation. In the medical field, this is useful for treating or curing illnesses in our body.

As one of the Yes-O club officer, we had organized activities for the students to understand more about electromagnetism. How it works and how it helps develop facilities. In having this kind of such activities, all of us may learn and use it and it's beneficials in right condition. With discovering potentials, it will lead to the development of ourselves as well as our country.

Philippine Beam

Image result for resiliency of filipinos

Philippines is one of the Disaster Prone Country because it is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire where there are most active volcanoes. Anyone born and raised in the Philippines knows that every year more than twenty typhoons hit our land. Worst storms come every year and will ruin anything that we have and we Filipinos live a cycle that after we have been devastated we stand up and rebuild again. Floods and landslides devastate our homes and what we do is to accept the truth, rebuild again and we find ways on how to survive, we always think of a reason to continue living.

Philippines also experience the shaking of the ground. Many buildings, homes and roads are destroyed because of earthquake but even if we lose our loved ones, we Filipinos thrive and understand sorrow. We try our best to reconstruct and we always look forward on what's next.

I have also witness the bravery, hard work, optimism and faith of every Filipinos that after a disaster we can see in their faces a smile. Smile that symbolizes hope. In every Filipino children you can see a genuine smile painted on their faces being contented on what they have. No toys to play with because of the disasters that ruin them. Filipinos are also optimistic. They always posses a positive look and think of a happy future.

One proof of Filipino resilience, when supertyphoon Haiyan has it's landfall on Mindanao. Many lives have been taken, devastate houses and buildings, families that have been separate because of landslides and flash floods. But in the end we saw hopes on their faces. Believing that after a rain comes a rainbow. But as a responsible citizen, we should do our parts to lessen the damage of these calamities. The government should not only the one to make a move. The Bottom Up Approach where everyone will participate in planning for disaster preparedness.

We can have resilience, we can keep the faith, but we need you to act and be accountable.

INTERNET

The lessons of ICT 10 that we have discussed are very useful. We have learned the history of Internet. In here, we have known the persons behind the web. The evolution of the internet was very interesting. In the first quarter we also learned about the definition of internet, its components, different tools and services. The URL which is our reference to a web source. The making of blog that has been my favorite lesson. By making your own blog, it enhances your writing skills and you may share this with anyone just by posting it. The search engines that have also been discussed to us. The terms that we have used in searching something, can show you lesser answers that you can easily find the answers that you want.
In our ICT 10, I have also faced challenges. In the making of blogs, I have difficulty in making an article because I have to think of a good essay to catch others view and read my blogs. But in the end I have successfully shared my thoughts and opinions in every article that I have made. In our scavenger hunt, another challenge that I have experienced is the using of search engines. I have to research again because the results are many and sometimes I don't know what to choose. But I checked again if the terms I used was right.
Moving on, I will share the knowledge I have learned to other people so that they may also learn something about the internet. I can also apply the knowledge I have in my everyday life especially in doing my homework and project. Nowadays, internet is widely used all over the world and by learning ICT 10 ; I gained more knowledge about it. But before you post something in the net, "Think before you click."

Filipino: Wika ng Saliksik

Promised Alteration

Image result for Duterte's State of the nations address cartoons

State of the Nation Address 2018 broke the tradition of highlighting the previous year accomplishments but instead the iron-fist leader addressed as a "Father of Filipinos" and focused on desire for genuine and meaningful change for the people.

His SONA is a very witty one for me. He had discussed the issues we are facing right now. His war on drugs that has been relentless and chilling. And he said that illegal drugs wasted away lives, dysfunctionalized families and ruined relationships. And I agree with him. Illegal drugs are the main cause of crimes in our country. Innocents that have been injured with the operations and lives that has been taken because of the war on drugs. Corruption is also an issue in our country. Because of politicians that wanted more wealth, they tend to get money in what we call the "Kaban ng Bayan" and President Duterte stated that corruption must stop for the betterment of our nation.

War is not an option. Yes, war is not an option, we should live a simple but happy life free from wars. President Duterte have seen the horror, devastation, and horror toll. He wanted to make peace for our country and prove that it's more fun in the Phippines. Amidst that he is our president, I am also impressed that he recognized our brave soldiers and police who died fighting for our country to have peace. His admiration towards our Filipino migrant workers for their selflessness and courage in enduring hardships being away to their families had my heart soft because my father is an Overseas Filipino Worker. For our dear workers, President Duterte fight against endo. No contractualization, regular job for all. He also expressed his love for the environment because he wants to restore our environmental integrity and also he also wants to have a Department of Disaster Management for us Filipinos to be aware about calamities.

All in all, i admire our President Duterte because he had stated all the issues and he tries to find ways on how to solve them. And I wish that we Filipinos would follow the rules our government would implement and be a responsible citizen. The Father of Filipinos is doing what he thinks will be for the betterment of our country. For we worry about the present and he worry about our future.

Gardening is Not Just a Hobby, It is a Way of Life

Image result for planting with family cartoons

Have you ever asked yourself if the nutrition you get is enough for your everyday life? Are the foods you eat have the proper nutrients needed by your body? And have you ever think of the sacrifices of our beloved farmers to plant fruits and vegetables for us to eat but sometimes we just leave them in our plate? That in every grain is equivalent to a farmers' sacrifice?

Nutrition is a very important factor for our body because it gives us the strength to do our daily routine. And this nutrient came from fruits and vegetables. Most of us just buy them on the market. Maybe some of the fruits and vegetables we buy is not fresh anymore and the nutrients it contain are not enough for us. So, how can we have proper nutrition in our own ways?

Planting and harvesting are the main job of farmers. They are always under the heat of the sun, plowing the field and they don't mind the pain of farming because they want us to have enough food supply. But now, farmers are decreasing. So as a responsible citizen, you should do our part to help ourselves and also others. Just by simply planting in our backyard is a big help. Planting like tomato, lady finger, eggplants and many other vegetables. All of us should do this for us to harvest our own foods. As the theme says, "Ugaliing Magtanim, Sapat na Nutrisyon Aanihin", we are encouraged to practice planting. In planting, your body can be physically fit and also having a garden of your own can help you not to go to far away markets to buy vegetables. Planting would also be fun if you plant with your family. Family gardening can be a way of for your family to be close.

Together with your father, mother and siblings, let's spread the awareness of family gardening. In the community, share your knowledge about farming and let's to this as a practice. Our farmers would say, "farming is not just a hobby... It is a way of life". Well, Home gardening is more than just a hobby - it is a lifestyle- it is an ideal worth preserving.

HIS EXCELLENTLY RODRIGO DUTERTE
President of the Republic of the Philippines
MalacaƱang Palace, City of Manila
Philippines

Good day Mr. President,

Being a president of the Philippines is a tough and challenging job. Many problems and conflicts are being encountered, so as the president you are in charge of the peace and order in the country. The government should have a sovereign duty in protecting every Filipino's right.

In your administration, I can perceive that many people had been killed because of your campaign on drugs. It's been a year since you seated as the president of our country and your campaign on drugs has been truly continuing. People who are involved on drug addiction were being caught by the "Oplan Tokhang" but sometimes it end up on a bloody operation where other innocent people were accidentally involve, getting injuries.

In my own opinion sir, I am not fully in favor of the way on how you end drug usage. Because only God can take the lives we borrow to him. I can also sense that the different sectors are not given that much concern. The Department of Education is a very important sector because children like me depends on it. The knowledge we have are mostly learned in school. So, for the betterment of our country every countrymen should be educated.

Amidst of all of the happenings in our country, I still idolize you and I believe that with your own ways, Philippines will stand out and Filipino people will be known all over the world.

Respectfully yours,
Arianne A. Barrientos

Thy Heroism

Image result for philippine independence day 2018

Year 1898, when Philippines avow it's day of Independence. For over 300 years, different countries rule over Filipinos. Spaniards, Japanese, and Americans are roots of our countrymen's pain, sorrow and they even endure excruciating. But because of our brave heroes who fight for our Mother land and who sacrifice their lives to make our country free from colonizers. Today, the government has a sovereign duty to protect our rights as citizens of this country.

One-hundred twenty years of commemorating the heroism of the people who perished for the sake of our land, using armors and sword and also by the use of ink and pen. We celebrate independence to honor our fellow countrymen who spent their lives enduring the cruelness of colonizers. We celebrate the day we are freed to show that Filipino people are one, a family that helps and care for each other. Because of the people behind our freedom, our country is developing and everyone is being educated and we are very grateful for that.

We must stick in our minds that even if we are now free, we must do our parts to make Philippines a better place. Where everyone has the freedom to show what they've got not only in our country but also all over the world. Because amidst the challenges we are experiencing we can say to them that "It's more fun in the Philippines".
